borderline dyslexia

I am starting this blog by posting about borderline dyslexia. My son is a case (I dont know whether you can call it a suffering but sure he is not able to enjoy a normal childhood. He has to put in hours of study just to get pass marks. That is not because he is not bright, but because his handwriting is so pathetic! i hope somebody reads this blog. I have this question to ask - why cant schools allow students to use PC/Laptop instead of handwriting. Already kids are tech savvy. they do use calculator, mobile and even PCs at home. so what is the point that students should only write and not use laptop. The idea is let them use laptops for doing their class work and may be they can take their exams thru web. I do understand reservation about india being poor country and all that. but Metros and medium sized cities like coimbatore, nagpur internet access is no big deal.
Of course there are other types of education that is available for students suffering from dyslexia. But considering that he is bright, (ok he is not a genius, but he keeps himself upto date, he is good in mathematics and he has a great memory; he really organizes data neatly in his mind and often stuns us with data about events in the past - past as much as going to 2-3 years. Things like what you did when something happened etc. Also he is very disciplined kid.

Yes, he struggles to form his sentence time to time. He wishes to say lots of things, but ends up mixing it all up. And often we hv to wait for him to form his sentence and complete it. It is not case of stammering, but case of too much going in his head. But that is because of lower social acceptance due to compound of these problems or is it because these are additional symptoms of dyslexia is something i am yet to figure out. this being my first post i have just poured in what I wanted to say. i will structure it a bit more in my following posts.
